Weekly News 1/4/12

Hi Everyone!
Happy New Year to you and yours.  I would like to quote Danny Kuykendall for he has a great thought on this topic.  "Let us all resolve to laugh more.  What a worthwhile resolution!"  I'm going to work on that Danny.  They say laughter helps in a lot of ways so here goes!!!

I also saw a comment that stated that we should look at 2012 like it was at the end of the year and see what we have accomplished, then plan for that to happen.  So what does your church have planned for 2012?  Do you plan beyond the next Sunday?  If our folks could see that there were things planned for them to invited their family, neighbors, and friends to maybe there would be some action at your events.  We live in such a structured world it pays to plan and prepare well in advance with a lot of invitations.

Lets see if I can remember some of the things that came to me this week.  Please let me know if I forgot something and I'll send an addendum.

A personal request:
I would like to remind you that the forwards that are so very nice have no place on this E-mail address so please delete the SBA E-mail from your forward list, use it only for passing church or SBA  information from you to the SBA office.  Just one thing I do not have to do, thank you for your understanding in this matter.  You may send it to my personal home E-mail if you have that.

Trinity Baptist Church could use a pianist.  Do you know of someone who would be interested in helping them out.  Call Ron Allen at:  541-941-3934

Ladies Retreat
Don't forget ladies to get your RSVP in for the Ladies Retreat, no later than the 12th.  That is a week from tomorrow.

New Challenge Seminar
By the end of this week, invitations will be mailed out for the New Challenge Seminar which will be held at the Northwest Baptist Center on February 9-10, 2012.

If you know of pastors and vocational church staff who are new to their ministry in the Northwest and should be invited, please reply to this email and provide names and ministry position information (and spouse name if known) of those who should be encouraged and invited to attend.  As the last New Challenge Seminar held was in October 2010, you might think back as far as fall of 2010 as you consider names.

Thank you for your help,  Marsha Gray

Pastors Tax Assistance for 2011
Pastor's have a little different way of filling out their taxes and not many tax folks understand the differences as most of you know.  Bruce Sloan sent an E-mail recently to I think all of you with a recommendation of a tax preparer who does.  If you did not get that E-mail and are interested I will be happy to forward it on to you.

NW Witness
The NW Witness will be on-line sometime this month (GoNBW.org).  If you did not register your email at the NWBC Annual Meeting in Eugene this past November, then please email Twyla Outhier (twylao@nwbaptist.org) your email address and request your web site information and other Witness updates.

If you know of anyone who would like to get the SBA Weekly Newsletter please have them E-mail me at::  siskiyoubaptist.org  and I will be happy to add them to the list.  Just as easy to get off the list as well.
